A new blog beginning

So, it is time for a new blog. Since I really have no idea how many people are reading the other one, this one will be more of a daily (hopefully!) look at my life with Abby.

Today was, in a word, hot. Then again, it is July and we are in Atlanta. Anything other than hot would be worrisome. The more important news is that it did not rain today. It has pretty much rained every day in July. And not just a little rain. Monsoon rain. But today was dry and we took full advantage.

We have begun working more on the potty training thing. Abby even stayed dry ALL day on Friday!!! Quite the reason for celebrating!!! We slid back a bit over the weekend but I am so proud of her!!! Today when I arrived at her school to pick her up, she was sitting on the potty and her friends Caroline and Isabelle were sitting in there too. Yes, the bathroom has 3 whole toilets. Before I saw Abby, I heard her saying "Mommy! I potty!" That's my girl. :-)

We came home and took Lucy for a much needed walk. Poor dog has not gotten a lot of exercise. Lucy is not a fan of the rain and less a fan of being outside in the rain, the combination of which has led to very little outside walking time in recent weeks. After our walk, Abby and I stopped by Pete's house and chatted with him and Ms. Bert. The mosquitos were in full attack mode and Abby and I left with quite a lot of bites. The mosquitos definitely won today's round.

And so, with a few clicks of the mouse, I'm up and running with a new blog. Not bad. Not bad at all.
